Alejandra Caicedo, also known as La Rue, is a multidisciplinary artist from Cali, Colombia whose work pushes the boundaries of traditional art. In her works, which are characterized by pastel tones and a bright color palette, she creates alternative universes that interweave the idyllic with the dystopian and focus on nature and female figures. Her art embraces the earthly and reflects the human experience with all its beauties and contradictions. Since her arrival in Hamburg, shortly before the global pandemic, her work has experienced a paradigm shift, influenced by her experiences as an Afro-Latin American woman in Europe, and is increasingly becoming a means of catharsis and reflection of migratory grief.
