backsplash shows us the sprayed style of DAIMs signature on an aluminum honeycomb panel. It is always the four letters that the artist uses as a starting point for his works and which he creates in a three-dimensional representation with a high recognition value. 

The picture is divided into four levels: First comes the background, which backsplash is executed in a subtle grey, light blue and bright green. White and dark blue drips then follow as the second layer, bringing contrast to the picture. The third level is the sprayed and energetic style, which was also implemented in gray and blue tones and has angular shapes. The sweeping lines and the voluminous forms, which are coordinated with each other in terms of perspective, bring dynamism into the work. The last layer is again characterized by color speckles. Quite characteristic of DAIMs art is the clear and accurately executed lettering and the omission of the outline often used in graffiti. DAIM defines his letters through the use of gradations of brightness, creating the impression of light and shadow.

In this work, the artist uses the central perspective and it has little spatial depth. Due to this mode of representation and the heavily cropped sides of the picture - which creates the impression that what is shown shows us an excerpt of something larger - the subjects seem to come forward from the pictures to us in real space.

the focus in DAIMs work consists of his personally developed letter style and geometric shapes that appear abstract. After 30 years, the artist has developed an individual pictorial language that stands for him and presents him to the outside world.
