Marija Silvija Ambrazeviciute, known by her stage name Emesa Amze, was born in Lithuania, shaped the streets of London as a child and later explored the Black Forest landscapes as a teenager.
Each of her works of art reveals her ability to discover and celebrate beauty and positivity in a wide variety of environments. Her works are a reflection of her personal journey, conveying strength and resilience. What is particularly impressive is the depiction of women in her artwork, who exude self-confidence and pride and make a significant contribution to the diverse mosaic of urban art.
Rafi the first
Rafi the First, a pioneer of graffiti from Porto, combined architecture and art to enrich the streets of Lisbon and Porto with her works. After gaining national recognition, she opened the first graffiti shop in Porto in 2011 and joined the international graffiti crew Stick Up Girlz in 2015. Her artistic journey led her to projects that support women's rights and community art in Cape Verde. Her works, which ask questions about the abstraction of letters, reflect the harmony of the whole and transform pain into meaning. She received the Medal of Merit from the city of Porto in 2023 for her contributions to art.
Anna T Iron
Anna T-Iron is a Hamburg-based multidisciplinary artist specializing in handwritten typography, graphic design, sign painting and illustration. Anna's work is driven by craftsmanship, dynamism, colors, fruits and fun - as well as her desire for tropical plants and retro-futuristic vibes. Anna travels extensively and paints colorful murals dominated by handwritten typographic styles combined with illustrations, bold patterns and textures. With 15 years of hands-on experience in graffiti painting, Anna is ready for new walls, bridges, shops, windows and more. She is incredibly thirsty for new challenges, learning and sharing skills and adventures, and is always looking for the next goal to achieve. She always wants to connect with people and share her skills and knowledge with the world.
La Rue
Alejandra Caicedo, also known as La Rue, is a multidisciplinary artist from Cali, Colombia whose work pushes the boundaries of traditional art. In her works, which are characterized by pastel tones and a bright color palette, she creates alternative universes that interweave the idyllic with the dystopian and focus on nature and female figures. Her art embraces the earthly and reflects the human experience with all its beauties and contradictions. Since her arrival in Hamburg, shortly before the global pandemic, her work has experienced a paradigm shift, influenced by her experiences as an Afro-Latin American woman in Europe, and is increasingly becoming a means of catharsis and reflection of migratory grief.
Dizy
One of India's first female graffiti artists, Dizy has made a name for herself in the male-dominated graffiti world. She began her artistic career with breakdancing and discovered graffiti, which was still unusual in India at the time. Despite a lack of role models and support in the early days, as well as the challenge of finding suitable materials, Dizy passionately pursued her path. She participated in a German-Indian hip-hop program run by Zebster, which helped her connect with German artists and expand her skills. Through Skype lessons with New York graffiti teacher King Slone, she developed her style, which was initially influenced by old-school New York graffiti. Dizy eventually traveled to Germany to further develop her art and has since commuted between Berlin and Delhi and now Hamburg. Her experiences and her courage to break stereotypes make her a source of inspiration for other artists.
Jennifer Kauka
Jennifer Kauka was part of the core of the emerging hip-hop scene/graffiti culture in Hamburg in the 80s. While the others were spraying and breaking, she started taking photos and capturing everything on camera.
Many of her photos are published in the book A CITY BECOMES COLORFUL and can also be seen in the internationally renowned exhibition of the same name in the Museum of Hamburg History.
Jennifer Kauka's pictures allow you to experience the captured moments in a new way and offer a unique insight into the time. They are a valuable testimony to the scene.
Lady Wave
Lady Wave is a real Hamburg Deern, grew up in Altona and immersed herself in the hip-hop scene through her friends. She was most fascinated by graffiti, which is why she started drawing. She was in the mid-90s
active in various areas throughout Europe.
News dedicated they itself rather “adults Kram” and participates in a variety of projects for, among others, Viva con Agua, Ramba Zamba and the OZM Gallery.
Besides of their graffiti art they the founder from MinTwirn, for which they are individual Fabrics designed and self-made unique textiles
distributes. Lady Wave is a self-made artist and has long since stopped just making waves.
Mike La Rock
Mick La Rock, born Aileen Middel in Groningen in 1970, is one of the first and best-known European graffiti artists. Inspired by the traditional New York graffiti style, she began painting in 1983 under the name MICKEY and gained recognition in the Netherlands and later internationally in the 80s.
Her career took a decisive turn when she met established graffiti artists such as Quik, Blade, Lady Pink, Iz The Wiz, Sar, Dondi, Futura and Lee Quiñones at the 1992 exhibition “Coming from The Subway” at the Groninger Museum. These encounters led her to New York, where she became part of the local graffiti scene and worked on large mural projects.
After mastering the art of graffiti, Mick La Rock sought new challenges and began exploring letter abstraction. Her minimalist works, both two and three dimensional, show influences from mid-20th century brutalist architecture and early 20th century abstract art.
Mick La Rock completed her studies at the Hanzehogeschool Groningen and attended courses at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy for Fine Arts in Amsterdam. She is a member of the City Curatorial of the Municipality of Amsterdam and was guest curator for the exhibition “Graffiti. New York meets The Dam” in the Amsterdam Museum.
Her work has been featured in various graffiti documentaries and retrospective graffiti books. She is a member of several graffiti crews including The Fantastic Partners, The Master Blasters, Clowns From Hell, Always Out Dancing and All Female Crew.
Venus (AFC)
Venus has embodied the visionary power of the OZM Gallery. Her interdisciplinary works consciously break boundaries, both in art and in society. Her work “No Limits” pays homage to the transcendence of graffiti by not only crossing traditional boundaries and removing the limitations of gender roles. Venus' Creating means resistance to preconceived norms and offers a space in which identity and expression can develop beyond restrictions.
Bona_Berlin
Bona_Berlin is a street artist. She is known for her colorful faces, which are always made up of different colors and shapes. The bizarre minds are at home on the streets of the world. It all started on small pieces of paper in Berlin, and the paste-ups have now become murals that can be found in many countries on different continents. Bona_Berlin's faces are individual and diverse, like each and every one of us. Only when taken together do they form a larger whole. The artist has had several solo exhibitions in recent years, is committed to humanitarian issues and justice and is an integral part of various urban art festivals worldwide. Bona_Berlin is also repeatedly involved in social activities, for example in cooperation with Viva con Agua, Seebrücke or Hanseatic Help. In 2020, Bona_Berlin won the audience award in the “Intervention” category at the Streetart-of-the-year Award. The anamorphic installation “The Face” was created in collaboration with the Pfund & Dollar gallery and shows that we are all more than what first appearances suggest.
